Music therapy is well studied for its powerful effects in treating movement disorders. With the increasing rate of diagnoses of Parkinson's disease and multiple sclerosis, so does the need for better treatment options. We've equipped the Tracker 3 with neurological musical compositions written and performed by music therapists to help more patients find their rhythm using the power of music.
This revolutionary music integration provides an effective, evidence-based tool for physiotherapists and neurologists to improve treatments and achieve faster results.
With our proprietary instrumented deck, real-time biofeedback, and sophisticated analytics, the Tracker 3 is the perfect platform for integrating music therapy. Using the Tracker's intuitive interface, the speed of the belt can easily be adjusted to match the patient's steps per minute. Music tempo in beats per minute (bpm) can be managed to influence gait components. Biofeedback quantifiably displays step length, step speed, and step symmetry to encourage patient progress.
While repetition of gait training encourages long-lasting effects through neuroplasticity, neurological music is composed to facilitate correct movement. Neurological compositions are not only continuous, but can also be adjusted to a bpm range without degrading music quality - even adjusting to lower bpm for advanced stages of Parkinson's disease.
Once the correct gait kinematics are restored using neurological music, patients can move on to popular music selections. Biodex has curated hundreds of songs for streaming, organized by genre and bpm.
